I'm unborn.
heaven spilled quick
when the angel’s water broke
splashes of laughter
crashed into each other,
her wings then turned
to sails
the woven clouds
roared and unstitched
as He commanded them
to sink her
-------
she tossed and threated to turn,
as if the waves were a wrathful mare
galloping through and trampling a dream
she might've had in her shallow beauty sleep
but deep within her lucent skin
she listened to her ocean,
it poured forth,
spilling its way to the edge of the world
in an almost deafening way
it told her that
she was to have no safe passage
but still her smile had roots reaching
into the very rich soil of her soul
with only ears a mother possesses
she heard a little drummer person
heartbeating some of her worry away
this brought forth her laughter again,
and the thunder followed,
trying to speak over the top of her joy
it took her under,
as she rose above
and then the cries of
an infant
erupted into the sky
like sunshine
the Father heard
and lapsed into silence,
ashamed of His voice
the echoes of harsh tones
disintegrated into a painted rainbow of sky
and clouds changed like mood rings
to pacific hues and intimate shapes
a child was held
within a seraph's
arms
the skin was aglow like the mother's,
and
the she,
finding herself on calmer waters,
cleaned the soft down
of her newly born
with three teardrops
of affection
quiet,
the child murmured
a song of hello
to the wearied eyes and
mouth of an angelic face
He watched,
half falling from His Throne,
as He finally got a turn
to witness a real miracle
The science of life
was drained of secrets
that day
and
theories of bad endings
were proven wrong
the volume of this world
turns slowly down
fading like woodwinds,
leaving only
cardiac rhythms
and unsung tomorrows
